James Ramos

James is an energetic, expressive and inspiring Salsa & Bachata instructor whose journey blends the worlds of theatre, cultural dance, athletic coaching and Latin rhythm. His passion for movement began in childhood through traditional Filipino dance, later expanding into theatre where he performed in productions such as The King and I. These early experiences gave him a powerful foundation in musicality, stage presence and emotional expression — qualities that now shape his unique style on the dance floor.

Although always drawn to Latin music, his dance journey officially began in Spring 2024 when he joined Incognito Dance. From that moment, he immersed himself fully into the world of Salsa, Bachata and Mambo, completing a 6-week bootcamp, intensive 3-hour monthly workshops, two Bachata Performance Courses, and a full Mambo Performance Course. His rapid progression, dedication and natural talent quickly made him a familiar and uplifting presence within the Incognito community.

Before dance, James spent years coaching a semi-professional women’s football team — an experience that profoundly shapes his teaching. Working closely with athletes taught him how to build confidence in people, how to guide beginners with patience, how to communicate clearly, and how to create trust in a learning environment. These qualities now define him as an instructor known for his warmth, encouragement and ability to bring out the best in every student.

As a teacher, he brings a contagious energy, strong leadership and an outgoing personality that instantly puts dancers at ease. He combines technical breakdown, musicality, and expressive movement to help students find their own rhythm and confidence — whether they are stepping into their very first class or refining their skills for social dancing.
